Harley-Davidson Touring description

A step up in features, the FLHTC Electra Glide Classic adds an adjustable Tour-Pak and passenger seating area, 40-watt Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon, and full engine instrumentation, plus additional fender and saddlebag trim, for beyond-the-basics touring comfort and versatility. A TRUE UNIQUE FIND LOW MILEAGE AND CLEAN.

New Brembo Brakes with available Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS): New high-performance Brembo brakes and a factory-installed ABS option are available on all 2008 Touring models. Incorporating the latest in braking technology, the new Harley-Davidson Brembo brakes offer consistent braking and stopping power under all operating conditions. Besides improved brake performance and feel, the Touring motorcycles retain their distinctive Harley-Davidson style. This world class braking system comes to the Touring line with proven capability directly from the VRSC line of performance custom motorcycles. The all-new ABS feature is designed to help the rider maintain control during emergency stopping situations, especially those that happen in less-than-ideal conditions. The components of the Harley-Davidson ABS have been designed and packaged to be virtually invisible, preserving the uncluttered styling of the area around the wheels. Unlike many motorcycle ABS, Harley-Davidson ABS is a manual, independent system, meaning the rider maintains control of how much of each brake is applied..

Larger Fuel Tank: Fuel capacity of all Touring models is increased by 20 percent, from five to six gallons. Combined with the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, the larger tank gives Touring models more range than ever before. The new tank also features new console styling with a new fuel range indicator, and also enabled the seat to be reshaped for more comfort.

Electronic Throttle Control: A new Electronic Throttle Control replaces mechanical cables on all Touring models. All wiring from the throttle-grip sensor is routed through the handlebars. The ETC enables the easy upgrade to a new cruise control system, and provides a clean custom look in the handlebar area.

Factory-Option Cruise Control: Available for all models that do not come equipped with cruise control as standard equipment, this new cruise control is offered at a lower price than the previous accessory cruise control system.

Isolated Drive System: Located in the rear sprocket, the Isolated Drive System improves ride quality under accelerations, shifting and cruising while reducing noise and vibration to the rider.

Adjustable Fairing-Mounted Wind Deflectors: The Ultra Classic Electra Glide model has standard adjustable fairing-mounted wind deflectors that improve ride comfort by allowing the rider to direct oncoming wind flow. The wind deflectors can be added to Electra Glide Standard, Street Glide and Electric Glide Classic models through Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.

Barbie and Ken get biker makeover

Mon, 15 Feb 2010

IF YOU'VE a young daughter and you want to keep her away from motorcycles when she's older (or more likely the men that ride them) then look away now.Yes folks, Barbie and Ken are getting serious makeover to keep them up-to-date for 2010 - the new Harley-Davidson endorsed couple now come complete with biker gear, tattoos and even piercings (a Prince Albert, perhaps?). It makes you wonder what Mattel, the company behind the plastic duo, has next in the pipeline. Maybe they'll have a model of Birmingham airport, where Ken can kick the sh*t out of rival bike gang members?
