Harley-Davidson Touring description

This is a one of a kind bike. Bought it new 2006, special color Black Cherry. Because of health issues I have not been on the bike more then twice in the past two years. All of the work on the bike has been done by me ( Auto Tech for 50 years or Harley mechanic) . Bike has never been down or wrecked, I did get to close to a wall in daytona and thats where the scratches came from, they will need paint work. The bike has been adult ridden and never abused. There are so many updates and custom accessories I will try to address them all one area at a time. Most of the upgrades are visible in the pics but some are internal. Starting with the fairing, Screaming Eagle gauges with all the bulbs changed to red for a night time custom look, tinted windshield, padded leather dash board and storage bag, billet gauge bezels, inner fairing painted ( by Harley) to match bikes color. Handle bars have all stainless steel braided cables for clutch brake and throttle. Chrome covers on switches and billet grips.  Tank has custom Arlen Ness center trim and stainless fuel lines, fuel tank cover, I removed the Harley Davidson Script on the sides of the tank, made it look better. Front suspension has two inch dropped SE springs, Chrome lower legs, and custom hidden front axle, with billet axle spacers, Rear suspension is air ride shocks by bob arrnott, has compressor and up and down switch on handle bars, makes a big difference when two people ride, or drop it all the way down for low ridder look. Brake system is performance machine on the front and Harley on the rear, brake rotors are special RC Componants matching the billet wheel of the same company. Wheel are 18's RC Componant ZARS wider then stock with rolled sides, smooth look all billet lugs bolts and mounting hardware. Also matching billet rear belt pulley. Transmission has been converted to a baker six speed with billet shift lever and baker cover, love it. Also has a baker light weight 30 tooth drive gear in the primary. There are three different seat set ups that come with the bike, shown in the pictures. The large tour pack has an upper led brake lite and has internal lites for nite time, also two LEDs under it to shine into the saddle bags at nite. ENGINE the bottom end is stock, used royal purple in both engine and trans, two oil coolers, oil filter you never change, just remove clean with soap and water and replace. SE 95 cu.in. Jugs, CP light weight pistons and pins set up for 9.5 comp ratio, HEADS ported and polished, larger intake and exhaust valves, chambers CC'd and matched, Had compression releases installed just in case down the road i would go higher compression.INTAKE ported with throttle body to 48 CFM by Horsepower INC.,Woods 510 cam and springs,SE roller rockers, TPI billet rocker covers like those used on the Iron Horse engines. D&D exhaust HPC coated inside and out, uses o2 sensors with thunderMAX EFI system can be tuned from your lap top, I have all tuning manuals, and CD, last dyno it was making 99hp 98 lbs torque, this motor is very strong with a smooth power curve, but very dependable. A lot of other custom items you can see in the pics, I will answer all questions honestly, and welcome inspections. I may have missed some details but feel free to asked. 1000.00 PayPal deposit required at end of auction, buyer can take up to two weeks for pick up, will not ship, payment in cash or other payments must clear bank before pick up.  Daytona  Biketoberfest is coming, take it down and have fun!

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.

2015 Harley-Davidson CVO and Twin-Cooled Models Certified by CARB

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

The California Air Resource Board has released new certification documents revealing most of Harley-Davidson‘s 2015 line-up. The CARB executive orders, required before a motorcycle is allowed to be sold in California, reveal new CVO versions of the Road Glide Ultra and Street Glide, two low versions of the Electra Glide and more models receiving Harley-Davidson’s Twin-Cooled engine. Introduced last year on the Ultra Limited, CVO Limited and Tri-Glide Ultra trike, the Twin-Cooled engine uses liquid-cooling for the cylinder heads, reducing emissions.
