Barn find of sorts. 1981 flt I picked up some time ago with the intension of tearing it down and restoring or hot rodding it.
I am up to my neck in projects and something's got to go. SO she has got some issues(see all photos) but she runs and shifts. Last owner was a cobbler and it shows in places. The top end was redone at some point, hence the 4 plug heads. Motor sounds good no weird noises. Priced to SELL now so here's an opportunity to buy a harley rubber mount, 5 speed, shovelhead CHEAP!!!!. I need the funds to finish a bike project so I am not interested in a trade. Harley-Davidson's Production Stoppage Was Caused by Non-compliant Brake Lines
Fri, 29 Jul 2022Production ramps up to meet year-end targets Back in May, Harley-Davidson announced it would temporarily halt motorcycle production due to a “regulatory compliance matter” regarding an unspecified part from a third-party supplier. Harley-Davidson initially estimated the stoppage would last two weeks but it eventually lasted 19 days before production resumed on June 6. The actual cause for the delay remained unclear some speculating the issue was related to the powertrains, as the stoppage only affected Harley-Davidson’s gas engine-powered motorcycles and not the electric LiveWires.

Fri, 09 Aug 2013For sale on Ebay right now are two original Harley-Davidson Sportsters ridden by legendary stuntman Evel Knievel in the film “Viva Knievel!“ Click here to see the Ebay listing, which ends on Monday, August 12. The first is the “Flying Eagle” Strato-Cycle, which is one of two used in the movie. The bike is complete with full documentation including original sales invoice from Harley-Davidson in 1977, which certified (with matching VIN numbers) and specifies that it was used in the Viva Knievel movie.
