Harley-Davidson Touring description

1965 Harley-Davidson FLH Electra-Glide. First year for the Electra-Glide and last year for the Panhead engine.
This is one of the most sought after and collectable antique Harley-Davidson motorcycles.  Everyone wants a Panhead with electric start.

This bike is an all original survivor.  It still has it's original Hi-Fi Red & Birch White paint.  Although it's worn and faded, its all original.
The seat, tires, wiring, exhaust, windshield, speedo are original.  The only aftermarket part on the bike is a replacement starter solenoid.
The electric start works great.  All lights work.

I recently serviced the bike and it runs great.  It's a turn key rider.  It once had a sidecar on it so it has adjustable rake fork trees and steering damper.
I rebuilt the rear brake, installed a new battery, changed the oil & filter, changed the trans oil, rebuilt the carb with a rubber ducky float and greased the whole bike.

The original owner of the bike was a HD dealer in PA named Sparky Haines.

Call me for more info. I can also email you many more detailed pictures. The bike is also for sale locally.

Church of MO: 1997 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Standard

Sun, 05 Jun 2022

How many 25-year old motorcycles are still around, and still in the same basic form? You kind of have to give Harley-Davidson credit. In 25 years, the Electra Glide Standard has only gone up by $6934 (to $19,429), and in that time H-D’s best-selling bagger has gotten about a thousand times better.

What’s the deal with all those Pink Motorcycles?

Picture a Motorcycle in your mind, any Motorcycle. It could be one you own, want to own, one you’ve seen. Can you picture it?  What Brand is it?  What Model, year, how fast does it go?  You can probably picture each of these elements vividly.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
