Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Badass 2008 Harley sportster nightster 1200. I bought this a few months ago to get into the harley scene but my heart is in sport bikes. The previous owner had some of the bike powder coated and then painted the fenders and tank silver. It has new 12 inch mini apes from J&P cycles with a 1 inch riser. I 5 foot 10 inches and the bars are level with my shoulders. The bike is lowered 2 inches. It makes for a little stiffer ride but looks sick when its sitting so low. I installed small viking saddle bags. They can be locked with a key and padlock type if you desire. The bike still has the original back tire and its time to replace it but you could still ride it like it is. I am including two new back tires and one new front tire. If you want a quiet bike then look away. This is the loudest bike or anything that I have ever owned. Its been straight piped and it will piss ever cop or neighbor off but it sounds so sweet. If you know anything about Harley's then you will know that the gas sometimes splashes in the tank and out of the cap. It causes the paint to bubble just under where the gas cap is but its not very noticeable. The is a small scuff on the left side of the tank. It wasn't dropped, someone hit it with a door. The battery is getting old and it could be replaced. I can still charge it and it will ride but if it sits then it will die. I also installed a new brake pads, kickstand spring, spark plugs, plug wires, front light bulb and changed all of the fluids less than 200 miles ago. This is definitely a bar hopper type bike but its pretty sweet. Around 14500 miles and it may go up if I ride it some. Any questions just ask. I can work with your shipper if you choose to have it shipped.

Legends Ride Stops Sturgis Traffic

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

This is a small sample of the participants in Monday’s annual Legends Ride from Deadwood to Sturgis. Hundreds of bikes thundered through the Black Hills toward Sturgis on Monday afternoon, creating a cacophony not heard in these parts since, well, last year. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
