2004 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL 1200 Roadster, Sportster XL 1200 Roadster - We’re not claiming fun was invented in 1957. But by all accounts, that’s when a good deal of it was discovered – the year the Sportster line was born. With it came a torque-laden V-Twin, a lean frame and good times. Since then, the Sportster has changed, but it’s never forgotten its purpose. If you need to get reacquainted with what that is, we offer the new, rip-roaring Sportster 1200 Roadster. It starts with a rubber-mounted Evolution engine, in silver and black powder-coat. It’s stronger and quicker, thanks to high-compression, high-flow heads and performance cams. Every trip through the gears is pure excitement. The frame retains the fabled XL agility, so winding roads are more like asphalt playgrounds. We finished with a wide polished bar, aggressive two-up seat, tach with a 6000 RPM redline and classic two-tone tank with vintage graphics. Yet again, the Sportster makes you smile. Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India
Fri, 18 May 2012India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.
