Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Bought new in March of 1999. MSRP $6750.00

I am helping sell this for a co-worker of mine. He is the head detailer at the dealership where we work. The bike has always been in his climate controlled garage or basement and has never been left outside or driven in any bad weather.

Spent over $3,500 in upgrades on bike when it was new using all factory parts. Bike was factory Black with Gold decals and I painted it custom Purple pearl metallic with four coats of clear coat. I replaced the factory mags with 21” spoke wheels in the front. I replaced the front fender with the OEM switchblade front fender. I bought new OEM forward controls and drag bars. I installed new progressive rear chrome shocks and custom cut & re-powder coated the belt guard to clear frame if you ride with a passenger. I also chrome plated the rear belt drive pully. A high-rev ignition system was installed and hotter coil 40” drag pipes were installed. I rejetted the carb. and installed high flow air cleaner. I wired rear turn signals as running lights with red lenses, and relocated the horn with OEM parts to the center of the engine between the cylinders. I replaced speedo housing OEM chrome housing. I bought a new seat and passenger pad for an 883 standard and bought 2 new tires with rims and innertubes. It has an oil temp gauge in the tank and a customer tag bracket. I installed a blue dot in the tail lamp lense. I have all factory owner’s manuals and factory brochure and both sets of keys.

This bike is like a brand new ’99 model.

Thu, 07 Apr 2022

The Nightster 975 has a certain ring to it We are less than a week away from the official reveal of Harley-Davidsons next Sportster, but weve managed to confirm the new model will use a 975 version of the Revolution Max engine. Harley-Davidson has been slowly revealing details of the new model, first with a teaser video and a number of social media posts. Weve previously speculated that the new model will use a smaller displacement version of the Sportster S Revolution Max 1250T engine, with clues such as the telescopic fork, twin rear shocks and single front disc hinting at a less performance-oriented focus.
