Harley-Davidson Sportster description

For sale is my 1994 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL Custom Hard Tail Bobber. I purchased this bike in April 2011 from Street Smart Cycles, a custom bike shop in East Northport, Long Island, NY. Charlie was the builder and previous owner of the shop. He bumped the engine up from an 883 to 1200, rebuilt the top end with Jim's lifters and pushrods, Andrews transmission gears with Zipper's trap door. S&S E carb. GMA front and rear brakes with GMA hand controls. Custom mid controls. Led-Sled rigid back half professionally welded to the original Harley front half with original Harley VIN. Power Jet (Thunder?) carburetor upgrade kit. Ceramic coated custom exhaust. I am not sure of the exact mileage. I have put on approximately 700 miles in two years since I installed the speedometer/odometer. The color is a flat/satin black.

Since I bought the bike I changed/added the following...

New front tire

Custom Red Tail Leather seat

Joker Machine mirror

speedometer/odometer

Fork brace

Head light visor

K&N air filter

Screaming Eagle ignition coil

Accel wires

E3 spark plugs

No front fender

No horn

No turn signals

No license plate light

No side reflectors

Front brake lever does not activate rear brake light ( only rear brake foot control/pedal does)

This bike starts right up, sounds great, looks great (This is not a show bike. It does have some minor paint chips but not very noticeable unless your standing over the bike) and runs great!

The bike has a clear title and is currently registered and inspected in New York State.

Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Buyer is responsible for shipping.  $500.00 deposit is required within 48 hours after auction close and the balance is due in cash or certified bank check within 10 days.

Look at the pics on the follwing link and you can see the bike in the shop (pic #10, Pic #15 zoom in to the right, along with other ones a photographer took). I just found these on line.

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

I remember my first bicycle. A blue frame with white handlebars and a long white banana seat for comfort. I was riding a Smurf.
