'74 sportster. Weld/bolt on hard tail conversion to original frame so still has original title/VIN #. Chassis and all brackets, sissy bar, controls and misc parts are powder coated gloss black. Gas tank, oil tank, rear fender, and battery box are painted black with a hint of gold metallic to accent the brass components( grips, risers, highway pegs and seat rivets). Engine and transmission have about 500 miles on it. Installed a springer front end. Replaced the 7/8" neck stem to a 1" neck stem eliminating the old ball bearings by installing a timpken type bearing and race set up. The bike was built over the 2012/ 2013 winter as sort of a restoration project for fun and sell this summer. So here it is for sale. Have new front brake caliper and master cylinder for it. And all take off parts if you would like to have them.

The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. Mon, 19 Aug 2013The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob is returning for 2014 with a new blacked-out look as the latest model to get H-D’s Dark Custom look. The new, darker Fat Bob features a number of blacked-out components including the powertrain and air cleaner cover, rear shock covers, triple clamps, headlight trim, console and battery box cover. The machined aluminum slotted disc wheels have also been received a black powdercoated finish as well as a laser-ingraved Harley-Davidson logo and rim stripe.
