This model is Harley's all time most popular model and not currently available new. The FXSTC Softail Custom has a classic hands-high, feet-out, long-chopper profile and the comfort of a two-up King / Queen seat and backrest that will please a passenger ready for a long haul. A 200 mm rear tire and Bobtail fender lend authority to the rear end. Polished ape-hanger handlebar and Fat Bob fuel tank are classic cool. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. Harley-Davidson reported 15.9%  increase in motorcycle revenue despite selling 9.1% fewer motorcycles over the first quarter of 2013. According to the company’s first quarter 2013 report, Harley-Davidson recorded revenues of $1.15 billion from motorcycle sales, compared to $995.9 million in the same quarter of 2012. At the same time, Harley-Davidson sold 54,254 motorcycles worldwide over the first quarter, down from 59,677 motorcycles in the same period last year.
