Harley-Davidson Softail description

2006 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard, 2006 HD FXSTI Softail Standard - In the saddle of a Harley-Davidson Softail, no road is ever lonely. Sunlight breaks through treetops to dance on chromed steel, the wind offers its constant stream of praise, and the world unfolds before you with open arms. Maybe it’s because nothing else on the road compares with the timeless hardtail styling...and nothing else feels like a Twin Cam 88B power mill rigid-mounted to the frame. Counterbalancing takes care of all but the good vibrations. You and the motorcycle become one, united by an unbreakable bond then you feel the hidden rear suspension smooth out the ride with a full 4" of travel. There’s no denying you’re in the saddle of a rolling masterpiece. This year, the Softail family gets a shot of adrenaline in the hindquarters — a brawny, road-hugging 200mm tire under a new wider fender. More rubber to stick to the pavement. More style to keep the eyes glued. Sometimes the best trip you can take is one back to the basics. The Softail Standard is just the bike for the job. Beautiful as seen here or decked out in Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories. The simple, classic lines begin with a raked fork. Head back to the horseshoe oil tank and the unmistakable shape of a wide bobtail fender. Once there, check out the brawny 200mm rear tire — a custom touch new for this year. It feels great teamed with the taut hidden suspension. Fire up the dual-counterbalanced, silver powder-coated Twin Cam 88B, in carb or EFI, and your primal urge to blow out of town is about to be satisfied. Just gas up and go. Nothing is more basic than that. This model is equipped with performance enhancing upgrades and accessories including: full Stage One high flow air intake Vance & Hines exhaust passenger backrest windshield leather saddlebagS 3-Day "no Questions Asked" Money Back Guarantee on all Certified used motorcycles purchased! Harley-Davidson Recalls 250,000 Motorcycles for Rear Brake Light Switches

Mon, 24 Oct 2011

Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall for 250,757 units from its Touring, CVO Touring and Trike line from model years 2009 – 2012. The rear brake light switch on the models in question may become degraded due to the heat from the exhaust systems. This may affect brake light function and may result in a brake fluid leak.

New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 – Motorcycle Manufacturers Draw Battle Lines for World’s Second Largest Market

Mon, 09 Jan 2012

In past years, the biennial Auto Expo in India slipped under the radar while the industry was focused more on shows such as EICMA in Italy and Intermot in Germany. But with India’s middle class starting to flex its financial muscle while other markets continue to struggle, the New Delhi show is becoming much more prominent, with major OEMs positioning themselves to claim a piece of the India’s 13 million vehicles-a-year market. We’ve already looked at India-produced Royal Enfield’s new Thunderbird 500 and Hero Moto’s hybrid scooter concept which debuted at the Auto Expo, and today we’ll look at what the major international OEMs presented.

Michael Jackson in Speed Demon [video]

Fri, 26 Jun 2009

Michael Jackson was not known for riding motorcycles, he did own a 2001 Harley-Davidson that was on the action block earlier this year that was listed for $6,000 – $8,000, I never heard if it was sold or not.  We all have our different opinions about the mega pop star but we can all agree that he was larger than life and truly a boy in a mans body, case in point, take a look at the “Speed Demon” video that features Jackson on a bicycle, motorcycle and scooter, sort of… The “Speed Demon” video is available after the jump.
