Harley-Davidson Softail description

FOR SALE:  2006 Harley Softail Deluxe MINT with only 6500 miles!

NOTE:  I WILL NOT SHIP.  YOU MUST PICK UP THE BIKE IN THE SACRAMENTO AREA OF CALIFORNIA.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  Thanks!

Absolutely flawless 2006 Harley Softail Deluxe (FLSTN/I) with only 6500 miles!  Never been down, never been dropped, never been bumped into anything.  Total mint showroom condition.  88 cubic inch V-twin.  Fuel injected.  5-speed.  Belt drive.  Two-tone black and white paint.  Clear title (in my name) with tons of chrome upgrades.  Out-the-door price in 2006, including upgrades, was $33,000.  I put another $5000 into it in 2012.  Total invested is $38,000.  Always garaged and covered.  Always used Chevron or Shell premium gas.  This bike is mechanically perfect, no scratches, dents, dings of any kind. Professionally maintained.  Runs perfectly.  Zero issues.  And when I say zero, I mean Z-E-R-O!

Upgrades at time of purchase in 2006 (installed by dealer) included:

Chrome front forks

Chrome rear swing arm

Chrome brake calipers

Chrome handlebar switch housings and switches

Chrome brake master cylinder

Chrome axle covers

Chrome rear sprocket

Chrome final drive belt cover

Chrome regulator cover

Chrome shifter, brake pedal, grips, highway pegs (all matching)

Upgrades in May 2012 (done by dealer) when the bike had 1400 miles on it:

New AGM (absorbed glass mat) battery installed in 2012.  Also, the windshield has the quick-release hardware system that makes it super easy to remove the windshield if you so desire.

For those of you "in the know", you already know that the 2005 and 2006 TC88 engine came with a spring tensioner for the cam chain, which is known to last for about 10,000 miles.  That's why I had the dealer replace that with the hydraulic cam chain tensioner that comes with newer Harleys.  So now it's "good to go" for 100,000 miles!  This bike is ready to ride for the next 20 years.  The bike needs nothing.  This really is my dream bike, and I would otherwise keep it for the rest of my life, but I have decided to sell it as I have other financial plans for retiring (not related to motorcycling).

Sure, you might find a 2006 Harley Softail Deluxe for less than my starting price, but you won't find one at this price that is in mint condition, has only 6500 miles, and has the upgrades that this one has.

If you like sharp looking Harleys with that nostalgic look, then this is the real deal.  Plus, it has a super-comfortable, nice and low 24.5" seat height.  Current California registration good through September 2014.  I just put the blue (2014) sticker on the license plate a couple of days ago.

I am starting the bidding at $13,900 (not bad for bike that has $38,000 invested!)  This is a no reserve auction.  Highest bidder wins!  I am located in the Sacramento area of California.  No shipping!  You must be prepared to pick up the bike in the Sacramento area.  I have 100% positive feedback, so bid with complete confidence.  A bid is a legally binding contract.  I accept Paypal.  If you want to pay me cash upon pickup, that's fine too (or a bank cashier's check that has been cleared by my bank that is two blocks from my house).  I also have this Harley for sale locally, so if I have not received any bids, I reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell it locally.  But once I receive a bid in this auction, I will not end the auction early to sell it locally (I would then sell it to the winner of this auction).  Happy bidding!

Harley-Davidson Christmas Commercial

Fri, 19 Dec 2008

Every year it seems that newspaper advertisements, radio and TV commercials for Christmas start earlier and earlier. As soon as the sun begins to set on Halloween, department stores begin packing shelves and websites start stocking inventory in preparation for the impending feeding frenzy that will occur for the most commercial of holidays next to valentine’s day. While spending the holiday with family normally keeps me blitzed off eggnog and most of these aforementioned advertisements are enough to make me want to book a cruise for an entire fortnight at the end of December, this one commercial for Harley-Davidson made me laugh.
