Harley-Davidson Softail description

2005 Harley-Davidson Softail, There s only one place this motorcycle won t go and that s overboard. Keeping it simple is what this ride s all about. And by the looks of things, simple is good. Within the clean lines of the Softail frame lies a silver powder-coated, dual counterbalanced Twin Cam 88B ,TM in carb or EFI. The Standard also gets a raked FX fork, laced wheels, horseshoe oil tank and fat rear tire with bobtail fender. As with all members of the family, the hidden rear suspension keeps the ride as smooth as the looks. Truth be told, this is everything you need to hit the road nothing more and nothing less. However, if you re one who takes pleasure in adding on, taking up and chroming out, then go ahead and have at it. With Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories, you can turn your Standard into something that s anything but.

Harley’s Behind the Scenes at The Art of Rebellion

Wed, 06 May 2009

On February 7th, 2009, at the Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station Arts Center, Harley-Davidson gathered 11 of today’s most relevant and exciting artists to present their take on the theme of rebellion. Because the event was so popular, The Art of Rebellion one-night only event quickly became a month long showing. Artwork was for sale and the proceeds were donated to Art Matters, a foundation that assists socially and aesthetically groundbreaking artists.

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
