We at CAMPBELL BROTHERS AUTO SALES INC. are offering for sale this CLEAN, ONE OWNER, 2005 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLSTSCI SOFTAIL SPRINGER CLASSIC with a 88 CUBIC INCH FUEL INJECTED ENGINE and 5-SPEED TRANSMISSION. This bike came from a local gentleman who quite simply did not ride it much, and with a new home and a wife with a busy dental practice he saw less riding time in his future. For the most part this is an original unmolested bike. The only changes or upgrades that were made are.... saddle bags, back rest, rear seat cushion, air breather, chrome switch housings, and beach bar handle bars. We do have the original handle bars with cables, air breather, and rear seat cushion as well. This IS a very nice bike. It IS also an 11 year old bike. There are some minor imperfections. There is about a 1/2 inch chip in the paint on the front fender and there are some blisters on the chrome wheels (all seen in pictures). The Harley Springers are very difficult to find. To find a 2005 Harley Springer, ONE OWNER, with ONLY 3,226 MILES is next to impossible. Take advantage of this opportunity to own a rare and desirable bike at a fair reserve auction price. Louisiana Bill Updates Maximum Handlebar Height Legislation

Thu, 17 May 2012

Louisiana state lawmakers have approved a bill that would change the maximum height of motorcycle handlebars. Current state law restricts handlebar height to no more than 15 inches above the seat, a somewhat arbitrary level, but a common choice with 17 other states. The House has voted 87-0 in favor of Senate Bill 582 to change the maximum height to the rider’s shoulder level, as measured while sitting on the seat.

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.

Harley-Davidson's Production Stoppage Was Caused by Non-compliant Brake Lines

Fri, 29 Jul 2022

Production ramps up to meet year-end targets Back in May, Harley-Davidson announced it would temporarily halt motorcycle production due to a “regulatory compliance matter” regarding an unspecified part from a third-party supplier. Harley-Davidson initially estimated the stoppage would last two weeks but it eventually lasted 19 days before production resumed on June 6. The actual cause for the delay remained unclear some speculating the issue was related to the powertrains, as the stoppage only affected Harley-Davidson’s gas engine-powered motorcycles and not the electric LiveWires.
