Harley-Davidson Softail description

Almost a 'barn find,' this bike has been stored in a shed for the last five years! The owners declining health forced the sale.

The bike was all Black, with the 15th Anniversary decals. The tank and front fender were dinged by a laydown (in his backyard), and were recently replaced by the NOS red/silver 15th Anniversary tins you see here. The bike has the HD convertible windshield (which has a couple mars and scratches), HD accessory handgrips, the HD sissy bar, luggage rack and sissy bar toolbag, and pannier mounting rails. The bags are not included.

With only 2333 miles on it, this fuel-injected bike is in an almost 'New' condition. The only degradations from 'New' are minor corrosion on a couple of the aluminum surfaces (wheels, rear sprocket), scratches on the left mirror's edge, and on the derby cover (pictured).  The bike starts and runs great; a short run around the block revealed no issues.

No test rides; the bike is not tagged, and we don't want someone to put a scratch on it. Seriously. It's in that kind of shape.

The bike is listed locally.

Buyer can 'come on down' to the Redneck Riviera and pick up the bike, otherwise the arrangement for shipping is their responsibility.  Zip code 32401.

Harley Declares Women Riders Month

Tue, 10 Feb 2009

Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.

Harley-Davidson Donated $4.5 Million to Various Causes in 2012

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Harley-Davidson donated more than $4.5 million to support various charitable groups in 2012. The donations, which include both grants and merchandise, went to several organizations, including those around Harley-Davidson‘s bases in Milwaukee, Wis., York, Pa., and Kansas City, Mo., but also to groups across the nation. The Milwaukee chapter of Habitat for Humanity received a $200,000 grant for its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, helping fund housing projects in the Washington Park community.

New Harley-Davidson Sportster for India to Use 500cc V-Twin

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

When Harley-Davidson first entered the Indian market, The Motor Company decided to import existing models as complete knockdown kits for final assembly in the burgeoning market. Considering the average motorcycle in India has a displacement smaller than 200cc, it was inevitable Harley-Davidson would eventually have to produce a small-displacement model rather than rely on its existing product line which currently lists the 883cc sportsters as its smallest bikes. Despite a denial last May by Harley-Davidson India’s Managing Director Anoop Prakash, it now appears Harley-Davidson is set to announce a new small-displacement model to be produced in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo next February.
