Harley-Davidson Softail description

2004 Fat Boy

Extras: Flame Collection, Stage 1 Vance & Hines Longshot exhaust, Inferno cut custom chrome wheels, Chrome rear swing arm, Chrome Road King front which includes the Nacelle Freight Train Headlight, Chrome switch housings, Braided cables, 4 seats: Mustang (favorite and most comfortable made for this bike), Screaming eagle custom seat, Original OEM seat, Corbin touring seat. 2 windshields (15" & 21"), 2 sets of mirrors, Mark IV cruise arm, Harley saddle bags.

Cam Tensioner Fix $1400, performed 3K miles ago. Buyers, note if you are considering a 1999-2006 model year with a 88B engine. Google "harley davidson 88b cam tensioner problems". This needs to be monitored and periodically checked. This bike has the fix with new lifters and oil pump.

Good for popping around town or taking on long trips. Try riding a Fat Boy 8+ hours on the stock seat. You won't make it the first day. However with the Mustang Vintage seat with rider back rest, the Mark IV cruise arm and a inexpensive throttle assist, I was able to do multiple
2000+ mile trips.

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.
