Harley-Davidson Softail description

2003 Softail FXST. Custom paint and custom front and rear fender to accomodate a 200 back tire! Motor has the 95c.i. screamin eagle kit with an aggressive cam and head job! I had so much done to the motor that I can't even remember it all, put it on the dyno a few years back and it was in the mid 90's for HP and high 90's torque. Many chrome upgrades and Arlen Ness forward controls. All cables are braided steel. Custom Mustang seat with a removable rear seat. Martin Brothers pipes that sound amazing! The tires are Metzeler 880s and have less than 200 miles on them. The bike has been garage kept. Too many custom parts to list, but the pictures tell the story. All of the motor work was done by Jim's Cycle Shop in Axtell, TX, a very reputable shop that's been in business for 30 years. Having a baby so I'm selling to pay for that. Comes with two helmets, the detachable rear seat, and the Harley FXST maintenance book.

Knievel bikes to go on show in Britain

Mon, 15 Nov 2010

THE MOTORCYCLES, leathers and personal memorabilia made famous by US stunt legend Evel Knievel are being exhibited on a world tour, with a UK date on the schedule. The True Evel tour will be at the Battistinis California Dreamin' Expo, 28th-29th May 2011 in Bournemouth, UK. Show-goers will get the chance to see Knievel's famous Harley-Davidson which crashed in a jump over a tank of sharks, the X-2 Sky Cycle from the ill-fated Snake River Canyon jump, the Wheelie Dragster Car, and of course the instantly recognisable blue and white leather suits.

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
