FOR SALE, 2002 HERITAGE SOFTAIL WITH 16,641 MILES. IT HAS THE 1450CC ENGINE. IT HAS BEEN LOWERED FRONT AND BACK FOR MY WIFE, WHO IS FIVE FOOT TWO. SHE CAN SIT ON IT WITH HER FEET FLAT ON THE GROUND. IT HAS THE DELUXE STYLE RISERS AND HANDLEBARS. WE PUT CHROME LOWER FRONT FORKS ON IT. IT HAS THE REACH SEAT THAT MOVES YOU FORWARD. WE HAVE THE QUICK DETACHABLE WINDSHIELD FOR IT, THAT IS CUT DOWN LOWER. WE HAVE THE STOCK SEAT FRONT AND BACK WITH BACKREST AND BAG THAT GOES ON BACKREST. ALSO THE STOCK REAR FLOORBOARDS WITH CHROME COVERS. IT HAS SCREAMIN EAGLE MUFFLERS ON IT AND WE HAVE THE STOCK MUFFLERS FOR IT. HAS A COVER FOR IT ALSO. HAS SYNTHETIC OIL IN IT. RUNS LIKE NEW. ALL READY FOR BIKETOBERFEST. IT HAS A FEW SPOTS TOUCHED UP AND WE TRIED TO TAKE PICTURES OF THEM. THE LAST THREE PICTURES SHOW THE BAD SPOTS THAT YOU BARELY CAN SEE. Tsunami-Tossed Harley-Davidson from Japan Washes Up in Canada
Mon, 30 Apr 2012A shipping container holding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Japanese plates was discovered on a beach in British Columbia, Canada. The container, which appears to be the cargo area of a box truck, is believed to be one of the first notable pieces of debris set adrift by the 2011 Japanese tsunami to land in North America. Beachcomber Peter Mark discovered the containerwhile riding his ATV along an isolated beach on Graham Island, an island south of the Alaskan Panhandle.
Vespa goes back to the future
Thu, 22 Nov 2012IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while. I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
