Harley-Davidson Other description

For sale is a 1997 Harley Davidson Softail Custom Chopper.  The motor is an 80 cu. in. EVO with an Andrews cam and adjustable lifters. It has a S&S Super E carb and it breath's out of 2" up-sweep straight exhaust.  Fuel from the custom stretched 3 gal. H-D King tank flows through a Pingle petcock. The motor oil has been changed, at the proper intervals, with factory correct H-D oil. The transmission is completely stock with the exception of a set of new Barnett clutches being installed approx. 5,000 miles back.

The frame is a stock Harley softail frame stretched 12" with a 1/2 rake riding on H-D wheels and Avon Speedmaster rubber in front and Dunlop 501 in the rear with about 7 miles on it. The rear has a stainless steel drilled rotor and chrome adjustable Milwaukee Twin shocks underneath.  Up front are handlebars and triple trees from J&P cycles on top of 28 in. "over stock" forks from Forks By Frank with H-D lower legs and 3" spike axle nuts.  The rear fender has been customized to match the rest of the bike by molding the fender and mounting the struts on the inside.  The bike has a LePera seat and it also comes with a nice "Lick and Stick" passenger seat. 2" extended Thunder forward controls are mounted up front.

All oil, fuel, brake, clutch and throttle cables and lines are stainless and add to the custom look. Most chrome on the bike is Kuryakyn.

I could go on and on with the little things on the bike not mentioned above but seeing it in person and sitting on it is where you can really appreciate the time put into customizing it.  The bike is a real head turner going down the road and it always get compliments sitting out in public. The custom paint job really pops out. This is a great deal and you will not be disappointed!

The bike is pick up only or the buyer can be responsible for any and all transportation, packaging and shipping arrangements and cost.

I am listing the bike for a friend and it is actually located in Grand Blanc, MI.  Please feel free to ask any questions and Thanks for looking!

EBR Nation Part 3: Made In America

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

Erik Buell Racing has released the third episode of its series about the new 1190RS sportbike. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.

AMA Ice Racing Grand Championship Adds Ice Moto Competition

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

If you’ve been paying attention around here, you’ll know that we love ice racing here on Motorcycle.com. Editors Troy Siahaan and Tom Roderick got a first-hand taste of ice racing last winter, and we got a real kick out of seeing racers Brad Baker, Jared Mees and Nichole Mees taking Harley-Davidson Street 750s onto ice during the Winter X Games. That’s why we’re looking forward to the American Motorcyclist Association Ice Racing Grand Championships, Feb.
