Whether riding one, or building a new one from LED headlamp to taillight. Welcome to the top of the line bagger.Key Features may include: EngineAs every rider knows, the engine is at the heart of the experience of riding a motorcycle. The amount of torque and horsepower it delivers over the RPM range is in direct proportion to the feeling it gives you when you roll on the throttle. We know what riders want from a motorcycle engine because we ve been building them for 110 years. Project RUSHMORE gave us the opportunity to dial it in just right. We conducted thousands of road tests with real riders giving us feedback to build the next iteration of the legendary Harley-Davidson engine. The consensus was: We want more. More low-end torque, more passing power, more perfection in the tone of the exhaust note, more of the feeling we ride a motorcycle for. So we built the engines that deliver it. We re proud to unveil the next level of Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine. And prove once and for all, the customer is always right.InfotainmentMore sound. Purer sound. Big, full color touch screens. Switches that are located where you intuitively want them to be and can reach without removing your hands from the grips. Voice activation for your music, phone and GPS. Or as more than one rider asked: Why can t the infotainment system on my motorcycle blow away the ones the car companies put in their cars? We couldn t agree more. Check out the new infotainment system Project RUSHMORE brought to the sport of motorcycling. You won t believe your eyes. Or ears.ConfidenceHere are some of the innovations The Rider Project led to: the new Reflex Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Linked Brakes, new dual halogen and LED headlamps and fog lamps, brighter Tour Pak lighting, brighter turn signals, brighter brake lights, and a new steering head with stiffer front forks. Locked-up tires are now history even when there s wet pavement. We ve made it feel even better to lean your way through a turn. Now you can see better. And we ve made you more conspicuous to the cage-driving public. Because one thing we all agree on is this: Bikes that work better make riders who ride better. Take a ride. See how good you can be.ComfortWe dialed in the comfort of our machines the hard way: over thousands of miles in all kinds of riding conditions on every kind of street, road and highway ever laid down in pavement. Experienced riders and passengers putting in lon

MSF Begins Year-long Real World Motorcycle Safety Study

The information will valuable data that will help shape the MSF’s rider education and rider training program and other safety initiatives. “Our priority with this research is to observe the participants on a day-to-day basis,” says Dr.
Vespa goes back to the future
Thu, 22 Nov 2012IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while. I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
Help a Veteran and You Could Win Two Motorcycles
Thu, 15 Sep 2011It always feels good to lend somebody a helping hand, but it feels even better when somebody hands you the keys to a couple of new motorcycles for your effort. Healing Heroes Network has developed a campaign to add a little more excitement to donating to charities, with its Harleys for Heroes sweepstakes. Healing Heroes Network is a 501(c)3 charity organization based out of Palm Harbor, Fla.
