2012 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic FLSTC, This bike is brand new, all stock. Ready for you to add some flare! These big-twin motorcycles capitalize on Harley's strongvalue on tradition. With the rear-wheel suspension hidden under the transmission,they are visually similar to the 'hardtail' choppers popular in the1960s and 1970s, as well as from their own earlier history. In keeping withthat tradition, Harley offers Softail models with 'Springer' frontends and 'Heritage' styling that incorporate design cues fromthroughout their history. The Softail models do not have rubber-mounted engines. Thisled to more vibration in Evolution-engined Softails than in rubber-mountedTouring or Dyna models with Evolution engines. To compensate for this, currentSoftail models use a counterbalanced version of the Twin Cam engine instead ofthe regular Twin Cam engine used in the Touring and Dyna models. Harley-Davidson Adds Twin Cam 96 and 103 Engines to Factory Remanufacturing Program
Tue, 17 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson has added the Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and 2003-2006 CVO Twin Cam 103 engines to its engine remanufacturing program. The program, which previously accepted 1984 and newer Evolution 1340, Twin Cam 88, Twin Cam 88B and Twin Cam 95 powerplants, takes used engines, rebuilds and repaints them. Customers can take their existing Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a dealer which will remove the engine and send it back to the factory.
Harley-Davidson Expands H-D1 Bike Builder Tool for All Non-CVO Models
Fri, 08 Jun 2012Harley-Davidson has expanded its online H-D1 Bike Builder customization tool to include more models from its current lineup. The H-D1 Bike Builder allows users to customize motorcycles with parts from Harley-Davidson‘s catalog. The tool was previously only available for Sportster 1200 models but Harley-Davidson has add all of its models except for the high-end Custom Vehicle Operations line.
