Electronic cruise control, 80-watt Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon with passenger sound system, vented fairing lowers and adjustable fairing wind deflectors, luggage liners, and CB radio/intercom are all standard equipment. The Tour-Pak rack has been redesigned with no pierced holes in the tubes for Tour-Pak attachment. The Tour-Pak and saddlebag capacities are increased by five pounds, and it is easier to adjust the Tour-Pak fore and aft for passenger comfort. New features for 2009 include shorty dual antennas that will clear a seven-foot garage door, mid-frame air deflectors that project radiant engine heat away from the rider, and a brighter, long-lasting LED rear fender tip light. Best Western is holding a new contest for motorcyclists to celebrate its 65th anniversary and the launch of its three types of hotels. The Best Western Ride Rewards Photo Contest is open to motorcycle riders and runs until July 15. To enter, riders must submit photos of their motorcycles in front of a Best Western sign from the chain’s 2,200 North American locations to the Best Western Facebook page.

Harley-Davidson Confirms 500cc Model on the Way, Says Electric Harleys Not That Far-Fetched

It’s only been a couple of weeks since Harley-Davidson broke new ground by unveiling new “Twin-Cooled” liquid precision-cooling engine technology its new Project Rushmore suite of customer-driven refinements, but the Motor Company appears to have even more ambitious plans in the works. Speaking at Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary celebrations, Chief Operating Officer Matthew Levatich confirmed the company is producing a new 500cc model and opened the possibility of an electric Harley-Davidson somewhere down the line. We’ve previously written about Harley-Davidson’s plans to introduce a new 500cc V-Twin model for the Indian market.
