The addition of the Twin Cam 96 engine and 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission make the Electra Glide Classic a powerful touring machine with a passenger and cargo. Reduced clutch lever effort, an adjustable Tour-Pak, comfortable passenger seating area and 40-watt Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon surround the rider and passenger in comfort and style. The Electra Glide Classic with standard ESPFI provides even throttle response and engine performance in various weather and elevation conditions. Full engine instrumentation, additional fender and saddlebag trim, locking saddlebags and chrome engine covers are standard. Offered in three solid and four two-tone color options.

Q3 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results

Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.

Harley-Davidson reported a net profit of $271.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, up from the profit of $247.3 million reported in the same period in 2012. For the first half of 2013, Harley-Davidson has recorded $495.9 million in profit, compared to $419.3 million reported in the opening six months last year. “Harley-Davidson again drove strong financial performance in the second quarter, reflecting the many improvements in operations we have made throughout the Company over the past few years as well as our brand strength globally,” says Keith Wandell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc.
