2006 Harley-Davidson Street Glide FLHXI, Most Harley motorcycles are modified in some respect and this featured bike has some great accessories, plus awesome standard features for touring. It has a detachable padded passengers back rest and a chrome luggage rack. A fob operated Security System is installed so that you and your Insurance company can have some peace of mind (but a Pit Bull in your garage does a much better job). Its color is Vivid Black and it shines. Its most distinguishing feature is a set of Harley-Davidson heated hand grips. I have these on most of my bikes and they are great to take off the chill at 40 degrees but can be considered mandatory at 7 degrees. A Street Glide is a great mix of practical and efficient with a lot of style. Check out the unique wheels, the cut down windshield and the fairing mounted rear view mirrors. Because of their lowered rear suspension, Street Glides have a very low center of gravity which make the them a very stable bike to ride around town (with lots of space in their lockable/water proof saddle bags for groceries). When in Rome for Harley’s 110th
Mon, 03 Jun 2013In addition to all the other goings-on scheduled for Harley-Davidson’s 110th celebration in Rome, Italy, Pirelli and LowRide magazine are teaming up to bring Italian Motor Company enthusiasts even more. During the June 13-16 celebration Pirelli is setting up shop at Lido di Ostia, transforming the Rome Nautical Club in to the Pirelli Clubhouse for this occasion. Guests at the Pirelli Clubhouse can attend tattooing sessions, where images created by Fashion Tattoo Studio will be imprinted on a range of tires. For those who want to try the thrills of driving a racing car through iconic racetracks around the world, the Formula 1 simulator will be available throughout the four-day celebration. Also on show is the new summer collection of Pzero clothing. Pirelli technicians will hold product workshops illustrating the importance of tires on custom motorcycles.
Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson
Tue, 17 May 2011Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says Jeffrey I.
Harley-Davidson to Assemble More Models in India
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Harley-Davidson is expanding its assembly operations in India, increasing the number of models imported as complete knockdown kits to nine. Harley-Davidson will now assemble the Fat Boy, Fat Boy Special and Heritage Softail Classic in India, joining six models already being assembled in India. The move follows India’s new budget which increases import duties on motorcycles with engines larger than 800cc to 75% from the previous rate of 60%.
