Then you feel the hidden rear suspension smooth out the ride with a full 4" of travel. There’s no denying you’re in the saddle of a rolling masterpiece. This year, the Softail family of custom motorcycles welcomes its latest member. We invite you to turn the page and take a gander at the clean lines of the new Heritage Softail. Additionally, all new bobtail models get a shot of adrenaline in the hindquarters — a brawny, road-hugging 200mm tire under a new wider fender. More rubber to stick to the pavement. More style to keep the eyes glued. Wrap your eyes around the Fat Boy, if you think you can. There’s a whole lot to love here. It all starts up front with FL-style fork tubes and huge solo chrome headlight. Generous floorboards are welcoming of any boot size. A robust eighty-eight cubic inches of dual-counterbalanced Twin Cam goodness is available carbureted or in super-smooth EFI. The engine belts out its baritone song through a set of shotgun pipes. And the broad tires on Silver Aluminum Disc wheels take all this beef to the road in a style like no other. If you’re ready for something bigger than life, get in the saddle of a Fat Boy. Pope Francis To Auction Harley-Davidson For Charity
Mon, 21 Oct 2013During Harley-Davidson‘s 110th anniversary celebrations earlier this year, Pope Francis was given not one, but two Harley-Davidsons, a 2013 Heritage Softail Classic and Dyna Super Glide Custom. Not one for gaudy excess (or a motorcycle ride for that matter), Pope Francis has decided to put both up for auction. Specifically, the Pope has donated the bikes to the Caritas charity near Rome.
Harley-Davidson Confirms Project Livewire Will Appear In Avengers Movie
Fri, 25 Jul 2014From the “Unless-You’ve-Been-Living-Under-A-Rock” department comes Harley-Davidson’s announcement today at the San Diego Comic-Con, that H-D’s first electric motorcycle, the Livewire, will indeed be used in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron movie as the ride of choice for Natasha Romanoff (a.k.a. Black Widow) played by Scarlett Johansson, in an epic scene with Captain America in the film. The Hydra-Glide name celebrates its 75th anniversary, dating back to the first hydraulic fork that was equipped to a Harley-Davidson, replacing the springer front end in 1949, while the “slash” fuel tank design, emblem, classic round air filter cover, two-toned windshield, seat, and cases, are all nods to the 1956 FLH.
