Distinguishing features include the lowered rear suspension, the leather-covered hard saddlebags with hidden latch release, the smaller rear turn signals and clean front fender shared with the Street Glide, the beautiful vintage-look speedometer face, and the distinctive tank dash, tank emblems, and rear fender emblem. Upgrades to this one include custom blue accents on the paint, all chrome front end, apehangers with internal wiring, chrome switch housings, new grips, quick-detach windshield, custom-stitched Corbin Seat with built-in backrest that can be mounted in either or neither position, and great-sounding Rinehart Slip-on Exhaust. EFI 88 cubic-inch V-twin,5-spd transmission, chrome transmission shroud, length-adjustable highway pegs, chrome visor headlight trim ring, lay-down license plate, upgraded mirrors, stainless steel braided cables, chrome/cast slotted wheels, triple disc brakes, and air-adjustable rear suspension. Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson
Tue, 17 May 2011Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says Jeffrey I.
California Dealer to Produce Limited Edition Sons of Anarchy Harley-Davidson
Wed, 13 Jun 2012Bartels’ Harley-Davidson, a dealership in Marina Del Rey, Calif., has signed a licensing deal to produce a run of limited edition Harley-Davidson motorcycles inspired by the FX drama “Sons of Anarchy“. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Bartels will produce 100 units, each priced at about $25,000. The Sons of Anarchy Harley-Davidson models will go on sale in August when they are revealed at the Sturgis rally in South Dakota.
Harley-Davidson Adds Twin Cam 96 and 103 Engines to Factory Remanufacturing Program
Tue, 17 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson has added the Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and 2003-2006 CVO Twin Cam 103 engines to its engine remanufacturing program. The program, which previously accepted 1984 and newer Evolution 1340, Twin Cam 88, Twin Cam 88B and Twin Cam 95 powerplants, takes used engines, rebuilds and repaints them. Customers can take their existing Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a dealer which will remove the engine and send it back to the factory.
