Chrome Apes,P.M.Collection Controls and Air Cleaner and a Danny Gray Seat. It has a Carbureted 88ci. V-Twin Engine with a Vance & Hines Big Radius Exhaust has been fully tuned and lowered. The speedometer has been replaced with an upgraded sharp digital unit so the miles on the new speedometer do not reflect the actual mileage on this bike. (Actual Mileage is 20,693) This bike is a must see so much more customization done on it! One of a kind for sure!

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
