2003 Harley-Davidson XL 1200C Sportster 1200 Custom, NICE VERY CLEAN ANNIVERSARY BIKE!! - 100th Anniversary XL 1200C Sportster 1200 Custom Take a look at this Anniversary Sportster 1200 Custom, and its clear this is how 100 years ought to be celebrated. After all, the two-tone finish alone will make anybody want to paint the town Sterling Silver and Vivid Black. But we went further with the Anniversary model you see here, and added a two-piece tank emblem with gold cloisonné. Anniversary seat logo. 100-year engine covers. Nameplate. Seems we just couldnt stop, which is appropriate for a bike that carries this much style. Like a 21” laced front wheel and chrome slotted rear disc. Custom handlebar riser. Forward foot controls. Drag bar. And a powerful 1200cc Evolution engine. Just to add kick to the celebration. * MSRP may not reflect vehicle shown. See Additional Features for specific color/option pricing.

New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 – Motorcycle Manufacturers Draw Battle Lines for World’s Second Largest Market

Mon, 09 Jan 2012

In past years, the biennial Auto Expo in India slipped under the radar while the industry was focused more on shows such as EICMA in Italy and Intermot in Germany. But with India’s middle class starting to flex its financial muscle while other markets continue to struggle, the New Delhi show is becoming much more prominent, with major OEMs positioning themselves to claim a piece of the India’s 13 million vehicles-a-year market. We’ve already looked at India-produced Royal Enfield’s new Thunderbird 500 and Hero Moto’s hybrid scooter concept which debuted at the Auto Expo, and today we’ll look at what the major international OEMs presented.

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
