It will always be a bike riders look to when they want to see it done right. The long 32º front end, highway pegs and buckhorn handlebar set up a riding posture that makes the traditionalist grin. The Fat Bob fuel tank carries a center console with tach and speedo. Just below, in chrome and wrinkle black, is the third generation of Big Twin to power a Low Rider. Eighty-eight cubic inches strong, and riding in proven Dyna Glide rubber mounts. Twist the throttle and it speaks a language even non-riders understand. The Low Rider. Long, low and massive. In the contest’s three-year history, the combined margin of victory stands at just over two tenths of a second. And last year’s dogfight saw ninth position take the checkered flag less than eight tenths removed from the victory. Each previous contest has developed into a full-blown drafting war, with the class’ evenly matched machinery testing the tactical acumen of its pilots as they negotiate the high banks within inches of one another.

Harley Recalls 25,000 2014 Touring Models
Wed, 16 Oct 2013Harley-Davidson is acting quickly to address potential safety issues by voluntarily recalling certain 2014 Touring motorcycles equipped with a hydraulic clutch system that may pose a safety issue for riders and/or passengers. The recalls include a Do Not Ride notice to owners and a Do Not Deliver notice to Harley-Davidson dealers until the motorcycle is fixed. “The safety of our customers is our highest priority,” said Tony Wilcox, Harley-Davidson General Manager of Motorcycle New Product Delivery.
