2000 Harley-Davidson XL 883C Sportster Custom, BACK REST AND WINDSHIELD - For years an 883 Sportster has given riders exactly what they need. A lean, narrow frame fired by a legendary V-Twin. For 1999 we add something new. The look of a Harley-Davidson Custom. Like the 883 itself, the styling is just enough to stand head and shoulders above anything else. Notice the forward foot controls. They’re new to the Sportster. The drag bars and unique mounting of the chrome speedo add more custom style. So do the chromed bullet headlight and sleek, two-up seat. The engine covers get a silver powder coat. Then there’s the profile. A lowered suspension and solid 16" disc in the rear, and tall forks with a 21" laced wheel up front. The 883 Custom. Clean, mean and all Sportster.

Ohio Man to be Buried on 1967 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide
Fri, 31 Jan 2014Billie Leo Standley died last weekend from lung cancer, but before he died, the 82-year-old wished for the world to know he was going to ride off to heaven. To accomplish this wish, Standley and his family made arrangements for him to buried in a Plexiglas casket riding his 1967 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide. Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas
Fri, 04 Oct 2013On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
