2000 Harley-Davidson XL 1200S Sportster 1200 Sport, Custom Paint, Seat, Exhaust. - Good as a Sportster looks, there’s more to the legend. The original was light-footed and powerful, with no respect for any machine lined up along side it. The XL 1200S never lets you forget that. Just look at the low bars and blacked-out metal. Even better, try the throttle. The engine doesn’t feel like anything off an assembly line. We gave it a complete redesign last year, with higher compression, dual-spark-plug heads, hotter cams and a single-fire ignition. You get a ride to match. Cartridge-type damping on the fork. The prospective 350cc model has been in the works since 2019, and despite design filings of the bike and a look at the Harley-branded engine, we haven’t heard any official statement on when it will go into production. Harley-Davidson first showed renderings of its small-displacement model in 2019.

Harley-Davidson has been slowly revealing details of the new model, first with a teaser video and a number of social media posts. We’ve previously speculated that the new model will use a smaller displacement version of the Sportster S‘ Revolution Max 1250T engine, with clues such as the telescopic fork, twin rear shocks and single front disc hinting at a less performance-oriented focus.

That represents a 27% decrease from the net profit of $183.6 million reported over the same quarter of 2011, but the drop was an expected result from a planned decrease in third quarter shipments as Harley-Davidson adopts an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing system at its York, Pa., factory.
