2000 Harley-Davidson FXDL Dyna Low Rider, Rare find. - The Low Rider has appeared, in one incarnation or another, for almost as long as we’ve built factory customs. It will always be a bike riders look to when they want to see it done right. The long 32º front end, highway pegs and buckhorn handlebar set up a riding posture that makes the traditionalist grin. The Fat Bob fuel tank carries a center console with tach and speedo. Just below, in chrome and wrinkle black, is the third generation of Big Twin to power a Low Rider. Eighty-eight cubic inches strong, and riding in proven Dyna Glide rubber mounts. Twist the throttle and it speaks a language even non-riders understand. The Low Rider. Long, low and massive. James Cameron’s New Movie “Avatar” to use “Motorcycle Riding Badass” template?
Thu, 20 Aug 2009James Cameron, the genius behind such movies as Aliens, Terminator 1 and 2, True Lies, and The Abyss, has a new movie coming out this fall. “Avatar”, a sci-fi action movie, stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Lang and Michelle Rodriguez, all of whom can be seen in the new pictures released yesterday by the studio. In one of the images we see Sam Worthington wearing a Harley-Davidson shirt and sitting in a bar. Is this the story of an average tough guy who rides motorcycles and plays pool in bars, turned action hero who saves mankind? Does Sam’s character, “Jake Sully”, ever get on a motorcycle in the movie or just shows his Harley support by wearing the T-shirt?

Thu, 25 Jul 2013Harley-Davidson reported a net profit of $271.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, up from the profit of $247.3 million reported in the same period in 2012. For the first half of 2013, Harley-Davidson has recorded $495.9 million in profit, compared to $419.3 million reported in the opening six months last year. “Harley-Davidson again drove strong financial performance in the second quarter, reflecting the many improvements in operations we have made throughout the Company over the past few years as well as our brand strength globally,” says Keith Wandell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc.
CARB Reveals 2014 Harley-Davidson Models, Including Some “Cool” Surprises
Fri, 16 Aug 2013The California Air Resource Board has issued executive orders on a number of 2014 Harley-Davidson models, revealing much of the Motor Company’s upcoming product lineup. While most of the models listed are familiar, the documents do reveal some gems including possible signs of the long-rumored new liquid-cooled Harley-Davidson engine. The first and least surprising reveal is the disappearance of the 1584cc Twin Cam 96 engine.
