Harley-Davidson Other tech info
Harley-Davidson Other description
I bought this bike in '90 or '91. It is a 1939 74" Flathead in a late Panhead FL frame (see frame stamp in picture). Most of the rolling chassis and tranny (4 speed suicide shift) is from the same late 50s early 60s era. It has manual timing adjust mounted next to the eight ball shifter. Front drum brake on the left side. Rear drum is hydraulic. 12v electrics which includes an LED tail/brake light. I have added fuses to provide reliability and prevent shorts. The original brass ignition switch is still used. One manual and one parts guide are included. Mechanically the bike is great and I rode often this summer. Chrome is pitted. Mufflers scratched. New paint is not a bad idea. I sprayed the pearl paint myself a couple of years after owning the bike.
The bike is sold as is. Crating and shipping assistance is available (fees extra). Choose and make arrangements with your carrier and I will deliver in the Montreal, Canada area with appropriate customs documents if required. Local pickup and delivery available too. I will get some better pictures up soon. Happy bidding! |
