Harley-Davidson Other description
Reducing my collection. Up for sale is my favorite Shovelhead. My mostly original 1981 Harley Sturgis FXB. Everything works and there are no known issues with this bike! It was one of the most popular of Willie G's designs. It just went through a major service, and this is what was performed. Transmission service New exhaust mount bolts and gaskets Oil and filter service New brake pads Master cylinder rebuild Full tune up with valve adjust and plugs Carb cleaned and adjusted ( S&S super B ) New wheel bearings F/R Front fork rebuild with new seals and oil New progressive suspension fork springs (what a difference in ride) have originals New Pirelli Route 66 tires and valve stems with ride-on anti leak added F/R Fr/Rear brake pads and caliper service New progressive rear shocks ( major improvement in handling) have originals New starter relay
Bike is currently registered and plated in California. I have a clean title for the bike.
I was told that the motor and tranny had been gone through completely by the original owner, but I cannot prove it with any documents. What I can tell you is the shop I use to do my services, said it ran like a fresh motor and tranny. No issues whatsoever ! It really runs strong ! This bike is no trailer queen ! It has Knicks and scratches and the paint is faded in some spots, but it is a great running and looking bike !
A motorcycle is only original once ! As far as paint and equipment, it is as original as a bike can be that has also been ridden regularly since it was first purchased. Battery, tires, brakes and fluids are fresh and not original. Shocks and springs have been replaced, but will give you the originals if you want them. Seat and pipes and carb and air cleaner are not original !
I have represented this bike as honestly as I can. My feedback backs this up. A deposit of $500 is required by PayPal within 48 hours of auction ending. The balance is to be by check, money order or preferably by bank wire transfer ( much faster ). I will release the bike to your shipper upon the funds clearing the bank.
I strongly suggest you come and inspect the bike personally or have a representative do it for you. I will give you 7 days to have that done. If you find the bike is not as I have described, then I will refund your money. If you do not have the bike inspected prior to your shipper picking it up, then the moment it leaves my driveway...it belongs to you. This is a used bike with no warranty promised or implied ! I will work with your shipper to help facilitate the process. I have also worked with overseas shippers. It is your responsibility to find and choose a shipper that you wish to use. This is best, as everyone is different and has different needs. Note: Mileage will slightly increase as she needs exercise.
Thanks for your consideration and please ask any and all questions that you might have before bidding. I can be contacted at 760-703-2679 or by email. Good luck,
Frank" |

Harley-Davidson Racers Visiting Troops In Middle East
Tue, 19 Nov 2013A large number of military personnel are also motorcyclists, with many dreaming of the day they can hop back on their steeds after deployment. Harley-Davidson understands this, and in cooperation with Army Special Forces Association Chapter 64, Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines riders Eddie Krawiec and Andrew Hines are joining Summit Racing Equipment and Armed Forces Entertainment November 18-22 for Operation Appreciation, an annual visit to American troops stationed overseas. After three years of visiting American military personnel based in Europe, Operation Appreciation will travel to the Middle East to visit troops in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

More Evidence of a Harley-Davidson Pan America 975 Emerges
Mon, 17 Oct 2022Earlier this year, we wrote about how signs of a Pan America 975 were mistakenly mentioned in an official Harley-Davidson web page for an accessory locking fuel cap. Up until shortly after our article went live, the page listed the fuel cap as being compatible with the RA1250 (Pan America 1250) and RA1250S (Pan America 1250 Special) as well as two unannounced models: the RA975 and RA965S, which we assumed to be Pan America models powered by the 975cc version of the Revolution Max engine, like the one equipped on the Nightster. Motorcycle.com has now obtained further evidence of the existence of middleweight versions of Harley-Davidson’s adventure-tourer, once again from Harley itself, as well as the U.S.
