Harley-Davidson Other description

This bike has been in my family for 45 years the first man who owned it bought it new from a dealer in Marysville Yuba city California. traded it back in 1968 my brother was in the service there and bought it. The bags fearing and seat were put on at that time. When he got out of the service in 1971 he returned to Indiana and brought the bike with him. in 1977 the bike was completely rebuilt and restored all oem parts no aftermarket it was ridden very little after that may be 7500 miles the front fender has a dent  and there are some scratches where it has been in storage for a long time. My brother passed away a year ago and left the bike to me I got it out and got it running and tuned up and road it 200 miles in 2012 it runs and rides great for a 50 year old. The engine was completely rebuilt and balanced as I said in 77 and is still in exultant shape. It also has both scoot boots that were sold in that year. One from Harley and the aftermarket they sold in that year. If you have any questions please ask!!!!      Thanks   Joe

What am I gonna do with a gun rack?

Wed, 27 Jul 2011

Living in Shoreditch I come across a unique variety of motorcycles on the road; from XS650s, to classic Lambrettas and one completely brown jelly-mould CBR600. My favourite of the regular bikes I see is this Harley-Davidson badged Armstrong MT500. In my head I like to think that the owner operates as an urban vigilante, realistically whoever rides this ex-Army bike is probably an artist and instead of a weapon in the gun holder it's probably art equipment.

India Raises Import Duty on Motorcycles to 75%

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

The government of India has laid out its budget for 2013-2014, increasing the import duty for large motorcycles. The news will impact several major manufacturers hoping to gain a stake in the world’s second largest motorcycle market. India has become the hotspot for manufacturers but one of the biggest obstacles they face is the duty India levies on luxury goods.

Harley-Davidson Reports Q3 2012 Results

Tue, 23 Oct 2012

Harley-Davidson reported a profit of $134.0 million dollars over the third quarter of 2012. That represents a 27% decrease from the net profit of $183.6 million reported over the same quarter of 2011, but the drop was an expected result from a planned decrease in third quarter shipments as Harley-Davidson adopts an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing system at its York, Pa., factory. The Milwaukee company shipped 52,793 motorcycles in the three months ended Sept.
