Up for auction is a real nice 1941 Harley Davidson WL it is an older period hotrod restoration the patina on the bike is positively uncanny compared to a modern restoration . Some of the chrome shows the age but validates the bike and its age. The tires are like new , new points , new battery , starts very easy , the clutch and gear box are among the smoothest I've seen on a old flat head , the tanks and fenders are OEM as far as I can tell the breaks were just adjusted also. The engine numbers are crisp and original as well as the rest , the cases are a matching set with matching numbers the heads are nicely painted rather than replacing them with new ones. Next to the serial number is the South Africa Defense proof mark this marks the bike as the predecessor to the famous WLA and a probable pre-war military contract to South Africa. It will come with a bill of sale as I purchased it from a gentleman out of Georgia and they do not issue titles to older vehicles. Mon, 02 Sep 2013It’s only been a couple of weeks since Harley-Davidson broke new ground by unveiling new “Twin-Cooled” liquid precision-cooling engine technology its new Project Rushmore suite of customer-driven refinements, but the Motor Company appears to have even more ambitious plans in the works. Speaking at Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary celebrations, Chief Operating Officer Matthew Levatich confirmed the company is producing a new 500cc model and opened the possibility of an electric Harley-Davidson somewhere down the line. We’ve previously written about Harley-Davidson’s plans to introduce a new 500cc V-Twin model for the Indian market.

Tue, 24 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson reported a 10.9% growth in motorcycle sales in the fourth quarter and a total annual growth of 5.9% for 2011. The growth resulted in a net profit of $599.1 million for Harley-Davidson. The Motor Company sold 235,188 motorcycles in 2011, up from 222,110 units sold in 2010.
