Harley-Davidson Other description

Pre-War 1941 FL very low serial number. I am the second owner.  This bike was professionally built by myself with 30 years of experience in restoring, rebuilding Harleys.  I built it for my own use and it is completely rebuilt.  All of the major parts are original on this bike. Some reproductions - exhaust system, horn, head light and rear chain guard are the only large reproduction parts. All of the engine castings, etc. are the ones originally installed on this bike when manufactured except the following: The engine's right hand case has a casting number of Feb. 1940.  It has the correct unaltered belly number. The original left case would have been a short rib case. They were prone to breakage when used with the 74" engines. This case was replaced long ago (the bike had 70,000 miles on it so it was certainly ridden by the original owner). A dealership installed a new case with the casting number Feb. 1947.The original numbers were stamped correctly except a round back 6 was used instead of a straight back 6. If this case was replaced in the 50's or the 60's it could or very well have a round back 6 as they were used at that time. There is no belly number on this case.

I have a copy of the original PA title and the original envelope post date of January 1941.

There is nothing in this bike that will disappoint you!

Please ask all questions before bidding.

Harley Riders Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

The Harley-Davidson family of riders and fans has a promise for women affected by breast cancer: You’re not alone, because we ride with you. These riders and fans added extra horsepower to that promise by raising more than $1 million for organizations that support and empower women affected by breast cancer through the purchase of Harley-Davidson Genuine MotorClothes Pink Label Collection apparel and merchandise. “The brave and courageous women who have shared with us stories of battling breast cancer are the inspiration for the Pink Label Collection,” said Karen Davidson (right), Creative Director of General Merchandise and granddaughter of a Harley-Davidson Motor Company founder.

Harley-Davdison Museum Opens Tsunami Motorcycle Exhibit

Wed, 24 Oct 2012

From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.
