As good as a street machine gets, the 2008 FXDSE2 Screamin' Eagle Dyna boasts potent performance and straightforward style from Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO). The Screamin' Eagle Dyna commands respect on the street with its unique Granite finished Twin Cam 110 engine and high level of hot rod styling.

The Screamin' Eagle Dyna is based on the versatile and spirited Harley-Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide platform. For 2008, the Screamin' Eagle Dyna boasts the Twin Cam 110, the largest-displacement production engine offered by Harley-Davidson. This 110-cid (1800cc) high-performance V-Twin engine produces 105 ft. lbs. of torque at 3000 rpm. A low-restriction air cleaner feeds standard Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), and exhaust flows through chrome staggered shorty dual exhaust and straight-cut mufflers with full-length covers. The 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission offers lower cruising rpm in top gear. The powertrain is finished in a new CVO-exclusive Granite coat with chrome covers.

Going even farther with a wicked combination of street style and performance, the Screamin' Eagle Dyna features new Mirror Chrome, Slotted Six-Spoke Cast Aluminum wheels. The 21-inch front wheel is covered by a swept-back custom fender and is held by 43 mm lowered inverted forks with chrome tubes and triple clamps, and has a matching brake rotor. The 17-inch rear wheel holds a 170 mm tire. A new lowered front suspension with decreased fork angle sets the stage for a smooth ride and razor sharp cornering.

The Harley-Davidson CVO program creates limited-production, exclusive motorcycles produced by teams of technicians in a special assembly area at the Harley-Davidson plants in York, Pa., and Kansas City. Approximately 2,600 examples of the 2008 Screamin' Eagle Dyna with a maximum of 1,050 serialized 105th Anniversary Edition vehicles will be assembled at the Kansas City Vehicle and Powertrain Operations facility. The suggested U.S. retail price for the 2008 Screamin' Eagle Dyna is $24,995 ($25,095 in California and an additional $495 for the serialized 105th Anniversary Edition).

Versatility and individuality are encouraged with the new custom adjustable handlebar, which is internally wired and integrated with a new four-inch spun aluminum tachometer. Grips are from the Stealth collection and match the Stealth foot pegs, brake pedal and shift peg.

A new chrome full-length fuel tank console now includes the speedometer and easily accessible ignition switch and lock. The fuel tank is finished with a flush mount gas cap and chrome fuel gauge with hidden LED indicators. The console rises over a new reduced reach custom seat with perforated leather inserts providing an ergonomically comfortable ride. Profile mirrors with new shortened, solid stems add a final touch of flair to the front end.

Church of MO: 1997 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic

Sun, 17 Apr 2022

How many 25-year old motorcycles are still being sold anyway? The Honda XR650L springs to mind, but other than it, it’s too early on Easter Sunday to investigate further. Granted, the Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic has undergone enough changes as to really not be the same machine anymore, yet that indelible American profile, architecture, and riding experience remain the same.
