Harley-Davidson announced a new contest for women looking to get started into riding motorcycles. The “Ultimate Learn-to-Ride” Experience will award four women with a prize package including a new Harley-Davidson Sportster personally designed through the H-D1 Factory Customization program, $1,000 in Harley-Davidson apparel and a trip for two to Milwaukee to take the Harley-Davidson Riders Edge rider course. Harley-Davidson Reports Q3 2012 Results

Harley-Davidson reported a profit of $134.0 million dollars over the third quarter of 2012. That represents a 27% decrease from the net profit of $183.6 million reported over the same quarter of 2011, but the drop was an expected result from a planned decrease in third quarter shipments as Harley-Davidson adopts an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing system at its York, Pa., factory. Las Vegas Harley-Davidson broke ground yesterday on a full-line Harley-Davidson dealership on the famed Las Vegas Strip. A custom Nevada Sesquicentennial-themed motorcycle celebrating the state’s 150th anniversary was revealed as part of the event, along with details on how one lucky rider will win it at the store’s grand opening. Harley-Davidson owners from around the city flocked to the site as Las Vegas Harley-Davidson President Don Andress and Vice President Timothy Cashman discussed the new location and, along with Governor of Nevada Brian Sandoval, unveiled a custom Nevada Sesquicentennial-themed motorcycle.
