Bob Probert’s Last Ride [video]

The former NHL Detroit Red Wing and Chicago Blackhawks tough guy, Bob Probert, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010 after suffering chest pains while boating with his family.  Probert was arguably the all time greatest NHL fighter but also had great skills, leadership qualities and a big heart. He was taken to his final destination on a Harley-Davidson sidecar before about 1,000 mourners.  Probert was 45 years old on his passing, he leaves behind his wife Dani, son Jack and two daughters, Brogan and Tierney. A (Not So) Silent Night from Harley-Davidson – Video

It’s probably not conducive for sleeping in heavenly peace, but Harley-Davidson has released a Christmas-themed ad with the song “Silent Night” performed by the revving V-Twin engine of a Softail Breakout. Titled “The Sound of the Festive Season”, the ad spot was produced by U.K agency Big Communications for Harley-Davidson Europe Middle East and Africa. According to AdWeek, the ad was conceived, sold and produced in just 72 hours.

Harley-Davidson Reports Q2 2014 Sales Results

Harley-Davidson reported a net income of $354.2 million over the second quarter of 2014, thanks to a 12.4% increase in sales revenue. Actual motorcycle sales volume stayed about even, however, with unit sales increasing to just 90,218 motorcycles from 90,193 sold in the same quarter last year. Though sales were statistically the same as they were last year, Harley-Davidson generated $1.48 billion in revenue from motorcycle sales alone, up 16.2% from the $1.27 billion reported in the second quarter of 2013.
