Harley-Davidson Dyna description

2003 H-D Custom 95” Dyna Wide Glide

The Dyna Wide Glide represents a classic Harley-Davidson chopper with its laid-back attitude and traditional custom styling. This FXDWG has the gold key (# 3199) 100th Anniversary package and comes standard with a vibration isolated 88” twin cam engine, a raked out front end, a 21” front wheel, ape hangers, a bobtail fender, a stepped chopper seat and forward foot controls. This particular bike is highly optioned with close to $10,000 worth of upgrades that were all installed by the original selling dealer. The biggest investment would be the engine work which includes a 95” big bore kit, Screamin’ Eagle 203 cams, Screamin’ Eagle hi flow air cleaner, the diamond cut heads and the Screamin’ Eagle II slash cut exhaust. Another significant upgrade would be the Wicked Wretched chrome rims, rotors and pulley. In addition to the wheels you will find an incredibly long list of chrome upgrades which include the inner primary, tranny, cam cover, lifter block covers, pushrod covers, front end, axle covers, battery cover, lower belt guard and switch covers. You will also find an extensive list of 100th anniversary badges such as found on the detachable windshield, air cleaner, timer cover, primary cover, tank panel and backrest. There is also a cover, a factory alarm as well as an upgraded H-D seat with extra padding. This is a two owner bike that has been pampered since day one and has less than 13,000 original miles. It was last serviced less than100 miles ago in the spring of 2013 at which time it received all new fluids, filters, a new battery and was completely tuned up. All said and done this is an incredible buy when you consider that the bike is flawless (except for a small scratch where the rear seat attaches to the fender), has close to $10,000 worth of upgrades and is priced just a few dollars more than what the value of a stock bike should be. If you like what you see you better call before it is too late!

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.

2011 Indy Mile Cancelled

Fri, 19 Aug 2011

Indy Mile officials have decided to cancel this year’s AMA Flat Track round due to the continuing investigation into the fatal stage rigging accident at the Indiana State Fair. The Aug. 13 tragedy killed five people and injured dozens after winds reaching as high as 70 mph caused the stage to collapse.
