Harley-Davidson Touring description

Up for sale is my MINT CONDITION 2003 Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary Road King Classic. It has 5,817 original two owner miles. I bought this bike about two years ago from the original owner. He was an older meticulous man and he never rode it. When I bought it there was around 3,000 miles on it. All the current modifications have been done at my local Harley dealer. I am also very meticulous and only buy the best of the best. I searched for almost two years to find an anniversary Road King that was as clean as this one. I am now building a new house and have decided to sell my Road King.

I would guess that I have around $24,000.00 total invested in this bike. Here are a list of the modifications:

HD Road King Chrome Front End

HD Chrome Inner Primary

Chubby Wild 1 Chrome 1 1/4 bars

All Magnum Chromite II Braided Cables and Brake Lines

HD Chrome switch housings and Chrome switches

HD Chrome slotted levers

Arlen Ness Deep Cut grips

Arlen Ness Deep Cut foot controls(Heel/Toe shifters and Brake shifter) w/ matching shift lever and shift rod

Arlen Ness Chrome Milled Dash

Kuryakyn Trident Mirrors

Kuryakyn Chrome floorboards rider and passenger

Kuryakyn Mach 1 Air Cleaner

Kuryakyn Match 1 Horn Cover

Kuryakyn Flush Mount LED gas caps w/ volt and fuel gauge

Kuryakyn LED parking/turn signals front and rear

Kuryakyn lay down license plate mount

Kuryakyn - various other covers

HOGPRO Chrome 52 Fat Spoke wheels (Front and Rear)

Wilwood Chrome rotors w/ Chrome PM (performance machine) calipers

New front and rear Metzler white wall tires with less than 1,000 miles on them

Front end has been lowered 1" and rear has been lowered 1 1/4 " ( rear shocks shaved at bitchingbaggers.com)

Various HD Chrome Covers and Trim

Stage 1 w/ Rinehart True Dual Exhaust with PM Performance Machine exhaust tips

Mustang Day Tripper seat

The Road King classic originally came with leather saddlebags. I have the original mint condition leather bags and they are included with the bike along with 4-5 boxes of all the original parts, nuts, bolts, seat, pipes, etc. I am also including a HD smoked windshield, passenger back rest, and a set of MINT CONDITION 100th anniversary hard bags. These hard bags are impossible to find and highly sought after. These bags alone are worth $1,200-$1,400.00. They are original with 100th Anniversary watermark pin striping and the insides are perfect as well, as shown in pictures. When I installed these bags I had them keyed alike with the ignition, put custom saddlebag handles on them, and also installed saddlebag filler strips painted to match by HD. I will negotiate the price if the buyer wants the leather saddlebags only.

This bike has been meticulously cared for. All maintenance has been done at the local Harley Davidson dealer. Service was just completed about a month ago so this bike is ready to ride and needs nothing. Title is clear and ready for the new owner. Please email with any questions.

More Evidence of a Harley-Davidson Pan America 975 Emerges

Mon, 17 Oct 2022

Earlier this year, we wrote about how signs of a Pan America 975 were mistakenly mentioned in an official Harley-Davidson web page for an accessory locking fuel cap. Up until shortly after our article went live, the page listed the fuel cap as being compatible with the RA1250 (Pan America 1250) and RA1250S (Pan America 1250 Special) as well as two unannounced models: the RA975 and RA965S, which we assumed to be Pan America models powered by the 975cc version of the Revolution Max engine, like the one equipped on the Nightster. Motorcycle.com has now obtained further evidence of the existence of middleweight versions of Harley-Davidson’s adventure-tourer, once again from Harley itself, as well as the U.S.

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
