Harley-Davidson Touring description

When looking for a new touring style motorcycle you should make sure you check out the 2012 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Base. It is a powerful motorcycle that has so many amenities and comforts I am surprised there isn’t a kitchen sink. The legendary Harley style, comfort, and forward thinking technology definitely are seen in this machine. We all know Harley-Davidson has forward thinking when it comes to the engines they supplies its motorcycles. The 2012 Street Glide Base model is not different.

For starters it has a 1687.9 cc, four-stroke, overhead valve, two-cylinder V Twin. This engine has been designed with electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) and a lighter piston design. These new 2012 features and the six-speed manual drive together make for a smoother drive from first engaging the engine to your destination. Each time you shift, whether it is up or downshifting, will be as smooth as the last one. It has an unmatched ability to take extra payload weight and those hills up ahead. Most people just love the Harley-Davidson signature rumble. Now you get it minus the engine rattle with the four point isolation system that was introduced to secure the engine just a bit more.

We now know the 2012 Street Glide Base has get up and go, maneuverability, and just feels good under you. However, there is more. It has style and so many amenities. One of the first things that will catch your eye is the bat wing style fairing. First introduced in 1969 it is still going strong. It is fork mounted and has a low smoke finished windscreen. To add to the comfort a deeper seat and backrest has been combined with a thinner width for less thigh pressure. The 2012 Street Glide has also been equip with engine idle temperature management strategy (EITMS) which shuts off the back cylinder during idle producing less heat under the driver and passenger. So many details have been looked at to make this ride just what you want to take home.
