  • I'm the original owner and the bike is in mint condition always been garage kept.
Mention a touring motorcycle anywhere in the world, and I dare you to not hear the name Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide come up. Without the slipstreamed bodies of other manufacturers, Harley Davidson's flagship touring cruiser cuts a unique profile that other motorcycles just can't quite find. Instantly recognizable, the Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide is available in numerous color combinations, including solid colors, two-tone schemes, limited-release colors, and an all-new color for the 2009 model year, Red Hot Sunglo with Smokey gold pin striping. A deep, comfortable seat, touring amenities such as a stereo and more storage room than ever before highlight the 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide, while it retains its unmistakable Harley-Davidson styling and attitude.

For long-haul touring, Harley-Davidson's 96 cubic inch air-cooled V-twin engine is tough to beat. Having been around for a while, the Twin Cam 96 with electronic sequential port fuel injection is plenty reliable, offering forgiving fuel economy combined with 92.6 pound/ feet of torque to keep the ride interesting. At 889 lbs ready to ride, the Twin Cam 96 engine with six gallons of fuel and four quarts of oil provides the 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide with plenty of punch off the line, as well as the ability to drop a gear and power out of bad situations when the need arises. For the times when you've got to give the 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide more "Whoa!" than "Go," braking is handled by dual 4-piston fixed calipers front and back, available with an ABS option to help cut stopping times down considerably while allowing you to remain upright.

The instrument cluster of the 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide features a fairing-mounted speedometer, odometer, clock, CD player/stereo, dual tripmeters, and mileage countdown. Indicator lights include high beam, running lights, turn signal, cruise control, transmission indicator, low fuel, ABS, and engine diagnostics.

For 2009, revisions to the Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide include an updated frame and suspension, as well as several new color combinations and various other small components. ABS is a $795 option, and upgraded wheels are an additional $450. Cruiser control is a standard feature, but a Harley-Davidson security system will add $345 to your total invoice price. For the money, though, the 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide provides one of the nicest rides on the road today combined with the unmistakable style and attitude that makes Harley Davidson so special.

Harley-Davidson has been building motorcycles for a long time. Over 105 years in fact, according to the summer celebration I attended in Milwaukee last summer. Who could have guessed over a century ago that the company would be alive and thriving today?

Tsunami-Tossed Harley-Davidson from Japan Washes Up in Canada

Mon, 30 Apr 2012

A shipping container holding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Japanese plates was discovered on a beach in British Columbia, Canada. The container, which appears to be the cargo area of a box truck, is believed to be one of the first notable pieces of debris set adrift by the 2011 Japanese tsunami to land in North America. Beachcomber Peter Mark discovered the containerwhile riding his ATV along an isolated beach on Graham Island, an island south of the Alaskan Panhandle.

Motorcycle.com Adds a New Editor

While some moto publications are cutting back and constricting, Motorcycle.com is proud to announce the addition of a new editor to our masthead. MO readers, meet Jon Langston, our new Associate Editor. I knew Langston was a cool cat when I first met him at the Harley-Davidson Blackline unveiling in January 2011.
