Harley-Davidson Touring description

2001 Harley Davidson Police Road King (FLHPI)

Lowered Reserve:  Priced to sell. (10/15/2013)

Birch white with 20,239 original miles.

This bike originally came from the Arkansas State Police (never put into service) and I purchased back in 2008 from a local guy (then @ 14K miles).  The bike is in great condition (garage kept) and has never been wrecked or laid down.  Rear tire has about 50% tread life, front will need to be replaced in the next few hundred miles (just passed inspection).
Stock features:
  • Rear adjustable air shocks
  • 5 speed tranny
  • DC power port
  • "Road King Police" badges (on tachometer and air cleaner cover)
  • police controls (although no lights or sirens)
  • removable windshield
  • lots of stock chrome.
Add-ons:
  • Power Commander/Stage 1 ECU
  • Morelli Injection
  • Rinehart True Dual Exhaust (they sound sweet)
  • Kuryakyn grips and pegs
  • H-D Badlander seat
  • H-D sissy bar/back rest
  • Easy clutch
  • standard Road King hard bags (got rid of the hockey pucks)
Bike looks and sounds great.  Dyno tuned back in '06 (75.5 hp/80 ft lbs).  There are a few minor scuffs and scratches, but everything is superficial and typical of a 12 year old bike.
Sold "as is" (no warranty).  Clear title in hand.

Four Harley-Davidson CVOs for 2022

Wed, 26 Jan 2022

The pinnacle of H-D style and design When you show up on a CVO, you know you’ve arrived and so do all the peons on lesser machines. “Exclusive and hand-crafted paint and designs are executed to a level of intricate quality that is unmatched in the motorcycle and automotive categories,” says H-D, to “represent the pinnacle of style and design.” For 2022, a new CVO Road Glide Limited replaces the CVO Limited, with CVO Street and CVO Road Glides returning, along with the CVO Tri Glide. Each CVO gets a burly Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain, H-D’s biggest and most powerful factory-installed motor.

2015 Harley-Davidson CVO and Twin-Cooled Models Certified by CARB

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

The California Air Resource Board has released new certification documents revealing most of Harley-Davidson‘s 2015 line-up. The CARB executive orders, required before a motorcycle is allowed to be sold in California, reveal new CVO versions of the Road Glide Ultra and Street Glide, two low versions of the Electra Glide and more models receiving Harley-Davidson’s Twin-Cooled engine. Introduced last year on the Ultra Limited, CVO Limited and Tri-Glide Ultra trike, the Twin-Cooled engine uses liquid-cooling for the cylinder heads, reducing emissions.

Harley Recalls 25,000 2014 Touring Models

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

Harley-Davidson is acting quickly to address  potential safety issues by voluntarily recalling certain 2014 Touring motorcycles equipped with a hydraulic clutch system that may pose a safety issue for riders and/or passengers. The recalls include a Do Not Ride notice to owners and a Do Not Deliver notice to Harley-Davidson dealers until the motorcycle is fixed. “The safety of our customers is our highest priority,” said Tony Wilcox, Harley-Davidson General Manager of Motorcycle New Product Delivery.
