Harley-Davidson Touring description

I bought this to run my two kids around, and it was awesome. Now they are teenagers and its not cool to ride with Dad anymore. Life goes on!

This bike has lots of fun stuff!
-1978 Harley Davidson TLE sidecar professionally fitted to this bike (look up sidecars...about $5K by itself)
-Corbin Saddle (Super Comfy, also accepts Corbin backrests in driver and passenger positions)
-Bub slip on mufflers (Sounds super tough)
-Aftermarket tuner (bike dynoed at 87hp)
-14" ape hangers
-Tono cover for the sidecar.

I have ridden lots of sidecars and this is by far the most stable. I must have ridden 6 or 7 before I chose this one. I wanted to be able to ride highway speeds with one kid on the back and the other in the side car. I have had this bike up to 90 with the sidecar on it and it feels solid and stable.

Also remember, the sidecar comes off in 5 minutes and goes back on in about 8-10. You will need a hand until you figure it out, I have a piece of wood I prop the legs on while i wiggle the sidecar back on the bike.

This is a great bike and I have lots of fond memories on it with my family...but its time to go! Thanks for looking and be sure to ask lots of questions before bidding. I will entertain offers as well. Remember, this is a 15 year old bike, its being sold as-is where-is...bid with confidence as it is a great bike, but there is no implied or actual warranty of any kind!

Please feel free to text, Im not great with emails!

Antiques Roadshow Visits Sturgis Motorcycle Museum

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

While on location in the Black Hills of South Dakota, PBS’s Antiques Roadshow stopped by the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum to film a segment on motorcycle toys. In the segment host Mark L. Walberg talks with vintage toy expert Noel Barrett about various American-made, antique, cast iron motorcycle toys. Barrett shares the history of these early toys, some tips about how one might tell a reproduction from the real thing, and offers his valuation on several highlighted examples. Walberg also takes a ride on a vintage Harley-Davidson Servi-Car.

Stuck for a gift? Solution No2: Harley-Davidson merchandise

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

Next year marks a strange anniversary for Harley-Davidson; 100 years of the firm's merchandising operation. Yes, just nine years after getting in on the motorcycle game H-D realised that the real cash was to be found in selling accessories rather than just bikes. And they're masters of the art.
