Harley-Davidson Touring description

1992 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic

-Extremely nice 2 owner bike. I purchased the bike from the original owner with 14k miles on it and have owned it ever since. It now has just under 99,200 miles and on it and has been exceptionally maintained. Not just oil changes. This bike has had the oil, oil filter, trans and primary fluid changed every 5k miles. Clutch and primary adjusted every 5k miles. Steering neck and shifter zirks greased every 5k. Wheel bearings replaced. Waxed every time its washed etc.

The Good:
-Bike has never been dropped or laid down
-Paint is very nice
-Bike has always been stored in a garage
-No Rust - Bike spent its entire life in Phoenix, AZ until I moved to CA 4 years ago
-Currently has just over 99k miles on it and it does not leak!
-Clean title with current CA registration both in my name
-This bike has been ridden but never abused
-Andrews EV27 cam
-Supertrapp 2:1 exhaust properly tuned with closed end cap
-Stock properly jetted CV carb
-Seat foam slightly reshaped and replaced with better density foam (in between firmness of a mustang and a Corbin) by Mean City Cycles
-The following have been done in the last 7,500 miles (I have receipts):
---top end rebuilt
---weisco forged Pistons and rings
---S&S lifters
---S&S adjustable push rods
---complete valve job with new guides/seals
---Cylinders .010 over
---Cylinders, heads, lower and upper rocker cover surfaces all decked to ensure no leaks
---cometic top end gasket kit with MLS head gaskets and viton coated steel base gaskets = No Leaks!
---All Balls 1.2kW starter and new solenoid
---New main shaft pulley with updated locking kit
---New final drive pulley
---New drive belt
---New brake pads front and rear. Rotors in great shape
---new battery with 1 year warranty from HD
---good tread front and rear on Dunlop Elite 3 tires

The Bad:
-Left side saddle bag lid came off several years ago and as a result is scratched. I have an OEM HD NOS unprimed replacement lid that is included.
-The seat has about a 1 inch split in the cover
-Gas tank has a very small door ding just above the fuel petcock (see pictures)

Extras:
-The bike will come with an HD OEM luggage set (saddle bag inserts, tour pak inserts, and tour pak luggage rack bag)
-The bike comes with a HD OEM seat rain cover
-I have all stock parts ever taken off of the bike (exhaust, OEM starter which is rebuildable, etc)

Other Details:
-Buyer is welcome and encouraged to inspect the bike prior to bidding
-I can send additional/specific photos on request
-Please call with any questions before bidding. I would be more than happy to speak with you about the bike.

Tsunami-Tossed Harley-Davidson from Japan Washes Up in Canada

Mon, 30 Apr 2012

A shipping container holding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Japanese plates was discovered on a beach in British Columbia, Canada. The container, which appears to be the cargo area of a box truck, is believed to be one of the first notable pieces of debris set adrift by the 2011 Japanese tsunami to land in North America. Beachcomber Peter Mark discovered the containerwhile riding his ATV along an isolated beach on Graham Island, an island south of the Alaskan Panhandle.

Wesll Quad Prototype

A number of manufacturers have tinkered with various three-wheeled motorcycle applications over the years. Companies like Piaggio, Can-Am, Brudeli and even Harley-Davidson have produced unique trikes with ranging levels of success. The Wesll Corporation is attempting to do one better, literally, as it develops a four-wheeled mechanism that could be applied to many different kinds of bikes.

Milwaukee’s The Iron Horse Hotel

Tue, 19 May 2009

Historically speaking, the kinds of places that have openly accepted or invited motorcycle enthusiasts and their bikes were lacking in a number of areas. While they may have been convenient and offered motorcycle-friendly amenities, they did so with little comfort or luxury. On the other hand, accommodations on the higher end of the spectrum were pretentious and inconvenient for storing bikes and gear.
