Harley-Davidson Touring description

Stock 1989 FLHS Electra Glide Sport

Selling for the original owners! You will be the second owner!

The title still shows 2 miles!

For sale is a 1989 Harley FLHS Electra Glide Sport. The FLHS was one of the best handling Harley Touring bikes every built. It has air suspension in the front as well as the back. This bike runs, and drives, but it has been sitting, so I would go over the bike and service or rebuild whats necessary. I'm selling it as a running driving project, so I'm starting it out a fair price. It starts, but idles high, so possibly a carb adjustment or some tune up parts. It has a brand new Harley-Davidson AGM battery. Considering this bike is almost 30 years old it has typical wear, fading, scratches, dents etc. I just want to make that clear. Please ask any questions prior to bidding and come inspect the bike in person before making any bids or using the buy it now option. I always want the buyer to be sure that the item they are bidding on is what they want.

I will ship or arrange shipping to the lower 48 at the expense of the buyer.

Please look at all items very carefully and request additional photos if you are unsure of something. Please ask any questions prior to purchase or bidding. I am not an expert, everyone else is. I highly recommend having a parts expert or an authorized Harley Dealer check all items before you purchase them to ensure that particular part is what you need and/or what you want. All sales are final. All items are sold AS-IS with No Warranty expressed or implied. No Returns or Refunds unless specified All items are considered used unless noted and with most used Harley or Motorcycle Parts you should expect a certain degree of wear and character that comes with normal, everyday use. As I once read "These are motorcycle parts, Not Beanie Babies". Thank you for visiting Motorcycle Science!

Attention: A few extra policy's apply to my store. Any item purchased by mistake must be Canceled by the buyer. We will not take responsibility for it we can only follow up with an unpaid item case after three days of lapsed payment.

Any item requiring a DEPOSIT. 50% of that deposit is NON REFUNDABLE.
The longer my item cannot be available to other buyers detracts from my business and takes up valuable time.

All Motorcycles purchased Must Be paid in Full within 7 Business Days. We only allow deposits online Not Full Payment.

Shipping large items. Please ask for a quote. Also we do have a few companies that do transport. We can also apply the item to Uship. You are responsible for your ship fees and we will try and find you the best price available.

Antiques Roadshow Visits Sturgis Motorcycle Museum

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

While on location in the Black Hills of South Dakota, PBS’s Antiques Roadshow stopped by the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum to film a segment on motorcycle toys. In the segment host Mark L. Walberg talks with vintage toy expert Noel Barrett about various American-made, antique, cast iron motorcycle toys. Barrett shares the history of these early toys, some tips about how one might tell a reproduction from the real thing, and offers his valuation on several highlighted examples. Walberg also takes a ride on a vintage Harley-Davidson Servi-Car.

Q3 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.

Harley-Davdison Museum Opens Tsunami Motorcycle Exhibit

Wed, 24 Oct 2012

From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.
