Harley-Davidson Touring description

Original Matching Number 19956 FLH Panhead Motorcycle.

I believe this bike to be 90% Original/Period Correct with great even patina as it sat in a heated garage for nearly 20 years. I have drained the gas (will need to be flushed correctly) and oil, then started it. It runs strong, with no smoke, and shifts well. The starting advance/retard functions as it should. To the best of my knowledge I am the third owner and the bike was rebuilt before being stored for the last 20 years. I feel that with minor work this bike will be ready go.  The milage is unknown and parts I list, I believe to be original, however, the bike is 60 years old.

Features:

Original Gas Tanks with tank fuel shut off, Linkert brass carb, Beck grips, HD Speedo, Buddy seat with passenger suppport, solo seat, hubs with grease fittings and later tires and rims, hinged rear fender, oil filter canister, HD controls bar and foot, horn with trumpet set up included, steering dampener, newer true dual exhaust and spare set of older fishtails, luggage rack, new aftermarket 6-Volt battery with new old stock HD dry battery (66006-29-D) never opened, functioning mouse trap clutch, pigs snout trans cover with later kick arm, two HD keys both work in ignition and neck, windshield mounting hardware.

Has a current Rhode Island registration WITHOUT title since Rhode Island is a non-title state.  With  original current registration, most states will issue a title, however, check with your local registry.

More pictures and video are available upon request.  $500 deposit through PayPal and remaining balance to be paid by bank check, wire transfer, or cash in person due within 48 hours after auction.

Harley Declares Women Riders Month

Tue, 10 Feb 2009

Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.
