We rubber-mounted the engine to the frame for a more comfortable ride — no road is unfamiliar territory, no journey too far. And though riding a Sportster has always been a blast, we keep finding more ways to make things even more rider friendly. We redesigned the transmission so it shifts smoother. Take a quick trip through the gears and you’ll no doubt appreciate the near-effortless clutch. There’s also improved kickstand ergonomics — now the bike is easier to reach and lift. The pure American street machine just keeps getting better. Take a look at what just came down victory lane. The Sportster 883R model is back, cleaner and meaner than ever. Wide rear tire and fender. Staggered shorty dual exhaust pipes. Two-up seat with passenger pegs. Dual disc brakes up front. We stayed true to the authentic H-D racing look, available in three schemes: black on orange, black on black or black on silver. There’s a racy checkered-flag graphic. And check out the blacked-out treatment: satin black calipers, forks, air cleaner cover, handlebars and rear springs. Even the Evolution engine is cloaked in black. Designed to replace the OEM fork caps, the machined aluminum adjusters can be installed in well under an hour with basic tools and are available for 39mm and 49mm Sportster and Dyna forks. The adjusters sit tight against the triple tree to avoid handlebar interference and are available in clear or black anodized finish. Dave Grohl Drums to the Sound of a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle
Fri, 31 Jul 2009I’ve got a lot of respect for Dave Grohl. He’s amazingly talented and very driven. Even after Nirvana, the guy is still kicking and in the spotlight with the Foo Fighters and the millions of other side projects he’s done (ie: Queens of the Stone Age). Apparently he’s also a big motorcycle guy. Harley-Davidson did a little video on Dave, featuring him drumming on a snare drum to the exhaust pipes of a Harley-Davidson. The seven minute video goes on about how Mr Grohl bought his first motorcycle when the Nirvana album “Nevermind” started to become big.
